Hi all, I'm Lisa James, a 39-year-old mother of five,
living in Green Cove Springs, Florida. I started collecting model
horses as a child, my first Breyers being the Classic Arabian
Family in chestnut. Although I had not collected for years, I
credit my children for giving me the collecting bug back. I've
even replaced the chestnut Classic Arabian Mare I lost all
those years ago when my mother finally threw away all my
childhood horses thinking I’d outgrown the hobby! My
favorite breeds are Arabians and Thoroughbreds, although I
have a smattering of other breeds in my collection. My
daughter, Sarah, also collects model horses. Her stable name
is SK Farm & Stud, and her horses are also shown
here on my website. She likes a little of everything, whereas
Paul, my oldest son, likes decorators, drafters, and bulls.
Besides collecting model horses, I'm in
college, majoring in health administration. My other interests
are collecting Fenton Art Glass, vintage Carnival Glass
from the turn of the century. For more information and photos
of my glass collection, please visit my Carnival
Glass and Fenton Glass pages, and do stop by to see my Cookie
Jar Collection as well. I have also been doing
rescue work for purebred cats since 1990. I specialize in
Persians, Himalayans, and Exotic Shorthairs, which are
Persians with short coats. Besides these personal favorites, I
also handle all other recognized breeds, look-a-likes of those
breeds, and some domestics. The name of my rescue is KitnHevn,
Inc.
For a little extra background on me, I spent
5 years in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, from 1989-1994,
and went back into the Active Reserve as a Navy Hospital
Corpsman in 2001. Since I've been in the Reserves, I've been
deployed to Naval Hospital Bethesda, MD during Operation
Enduring Freedom, and also had the opportunity to take a
several week dream tour to work at Naval Hospital Roosevelt
Roads, Puerto Rico, before it closed early this spring. Another highlight was my trip to Key West. I was sent the 6-16 of
June of 2005, and worked at the Naval Hospital Branch Clinic.
